Taft School of Skydive has been around since the early 1960’s. In 1996
Skydive Taft was reopened at the county airport in Taft, where some of
the first records in skydiving were set. Dave Chrouch, the new owner,
has over 9,000 skydives and 15 years in the sport, wining a gold
medal for his camera flying at the World Freestyle Meet and a silver at the
Perris Challenge Cup.

Dave has also competed in the X Games. He has been featured on Hard
Copy, Real TV, and filmed many movie and TV stars. Dave has also filmed
a skydiving episode for the Jenny Mcarthy show airing on MTV. While
working at Air Adventures West filming students, Dave saved the life
of a student who had lost both of his instructors. The film segment
aired on one of the opening shows for Worlds Most Amazing Videos.
Dave holds all his employees to his standard of excellence.

Skydive Taft is located in the beautiful San Joaquin Valley at the Airport

the best weather for skydiving in the country. We also have a large

Skydive Taft has an excellent student program which follows the US
Parachute Association guidelines for training students. We also have one
of the most experienced staff in the country—all of our jumpmasters are
certified and licensed by the U.S. Parachute Association. They have from
3000 to 9000 or more skydives each, and many of our staff members have
participated in world record attempts, The X Games, U.S. National, and
most recently, the Women’s World Record Jump For The Cause. So
